I've lived in New York for a little over five years. It's taken me a long time (and a lot of work) to acquire some basic things--like stuff for my apartment, for example. After years of suffering with a piece-of-shit couch that I got for free, I finally had enough cash to get a new, REAL couch (the other one was an almost-couch). I got up one morning (after having the couch for two whole days) to discover a huge disgusting pile of brown CAT PUKE on my brand new couch! Goddammit, but I do have bad luck!
