This year Christmas seemed to roll around extra quick, so I didn't really have a chance to get in the spirit until my work had a party the week before Christmas. I went with my friends Bago (band-member as well as friend--ed.) and Jay. We decided that since it was an open bar we would just get silly and see what happened. I should have known as soon as I got there that it was going to be a crazy night. First of all we were really stoned when we showed up. Then the drinking began. Everything was free. People were throwing drinks around like they were water. Needless to say, within an hour I was bombed. I'm not one of those cool people who can drink 10,000 beers and not be drunk. I was trying to stay on the D.L. (Uh, that's "down low" for all you kids that aren't down with the hip street lingo--ed.) because I needed to lean against the wall so I wouldn't fall over. There was one other little problem too. Indecision (Zed's old band--ed.) was recording that week at Don Fury's and I had to go sing back-ups that night. I have no idea how I even made it to the studio. I just remember Bago pointing the way and somehow getting there. Two minutes after we began to sing I fell on the floor. I was tired, ya know!? The next thing I knew I was out in front of the studio barfing all over the street; non-stop for 30 minutes. Everyone was laughing and I couldn't even see. Bad situation. Don was pissed because there was puke all over the steps that led to his studio. Then I bumped into some guy on the street and Jay had to calm him down so he wouldn't beat me up. Before I knew it I was in a cab and I still couldn't see. Artie (band member--ed.) was in the cab with Jay and me. They were both laughing hysterically, but I didn't care. I finally got home and almost railed in the cab too. I opened the door and puked outside my house for another 30 minutes. I think I only have one lung left, it hurt so much after all that bullshit drinking. Anyway, I managed to make my way to bed and woke up the next morning half-naked with my alarm clock on my head. That was definitely a day I will never forget. Drinking is fun! Throwing up is weird! If you live to tell the story there will always be a better one down the road. I don't think Zed
has a better story--yet. |
